Rashad Reed

Top 20 Under 40 Class Of 2021 Winner

Rashad Reed is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and is committed to reaching children and changing lives everywhere that he goes. He has grown throughout his over ten years serving his community with Duval County Public Schools. The education journey started as a security guard at an alternative middle school and into teaching elementary school. He teaches using the Restorative Practices and No Nurture Nonsense while learning innovative practices in which he has modeled for district training. He is also a participant in the Jacksonville Public Education Fund Teacher Leadership Initiative.
Rashad has earned his bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Florida State College of Jacksonville. He is now acquiring his Master of Arts in Education/Administration and Supervision to serve his community. His love for serving is at The Citadel Church of Jacksonville through various committees and ministries. His favorite quote is, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Therefore, Rashad strongly believes that knowledge is the way to our dreams.
His passion for edification as an educator and a person shines through his works during the day as a teacher and afterwards as the founder and sponsor of a male mentor program at Biscayne Elementary Leadership Academy named The Gentlemen of Biscayne. His love for aiding in the enrichment of young men does not stop there. He also serves as a brother of The Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation through their program called Kappa League. He may be a teacher, but he loves learning as a student of life.
