Kiaira Nixon

Top 20 Under 40 Class Of 2021 Winner

Kiaira Nixon is a widely respected community advocate. She is the Community Crimes Strategies Unit Coordinator for the Office of the State Attorney 4th Judicial Circuit. Prior to joining the State Attorney's Office , Kiaira served as a District Legislative Aide for the Florida House of Representatives, District 13.

She earned a B.S. in Journalism from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and she is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Policy from Jacksonville University.

Prior to her role in the state house, Kiaira served as Miss Black Florida United States Ambassador, promoting literacy and education throughout the state. Kiaira has lead many community initiatives to aid residents in urban areas including back to school drives, HBCU college fairs, community baby showers and food distributions.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a graduate of New Leaders Council- Tallahassee 2018 and the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida Board Fellowship, where she served as a fellow for Groundwork Jacksonville. Kiaira was recently appointed to serve on the Mayor's Community Based Crime Reduction Committee and the Historical Eastside Community Development Corporation board.

She is the proud mother of one son and a friend to all who has a heart for giving back to their communities.
